1. Rental Agreement
By completing a booking and signing the digital waiver, you agree to these terms in full. The rental agreement is between you and Hicken Ventures LLC.
2. Equipment Responsibility
You are responsible for all rented equipment from the time of pickup to the time of return. Lost, stolen, or damaged gear will be charged at replacement cost.
3. Late Returns
Gear must be returned on the agreed return date. A $150 fee applies to gear returned late or not returned at all. By completing your booking, you authorize Gorge Gear Co to charge this fee to your card on file.
4. Refund Policy
No refunds are issued after the waiver is signed and payment is processed. If you need to change your dates, contact us at least 48 hours before your pickup date and we will do our best to accommodate.
5. Assumption of Risk
Via ferrata climbing involves inherent risks including falls, rockfall, flash floods, equipment failure, and exposure. By renting gear from Gorge Gear Co, you acknowledge these risks and accept full personal responsibility for your safety on the route.
6. Required Waivers
Two waivers are required: (1) the Gorge Gear Co rental liability waiver signed during booking, and (2) the official Uintah County liability waiver, which must be carried on the route.
7. Weight Requirements
Renters must weigh between 90–265 lbs (40–120 kg) for the energy absorber on the via ferrata lanyard to function correctly. Renting outside this range is prohibited.
