Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata Waiver
Uintah County requires every climber to sign its liability waiver online before climbing the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata, and to carry proof on the route. If you rent gear from Gorge Gear Co, you also sign our rental waiver at checkout.
Uintah County Official Waiver
Required by Uintah County before accessing Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata. You must carry proof of completion while on the route — a county official may ask to see it. This waiver is managed by Uintah County, not Gorge Gear Co.
Gorge Gear Co Rental Waiver
Required as part of the Gorge Gear Co booking process. This waiver is signed digitally during checkout. Your lockbox code is not released until this waiver — and all group member waivers — are complete.
The booker signs this during checkout at gorgegearco.com/book. Group members receive a separate waiver link by email — use that link, or sign here if you were added to a group booking.
Group Bookings
If you are booking for a group, each person must sign their own Gorge Gear Co waiver. During booking, add each group member's email address and they will receive a waiver link automatically. The lockbox code is only released once every group member has signed.
Waiver FAQ
Where do I sign the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata waiver?
Online, through the Uintah County waiver link on this page (it opens the county's SmartWaiver form). It takes a few minutes. Sign before you drive out, because there is no cell service at the gorge.
Does everyone in my group need to sign?
Yes. Every climber signs their own Uintah County waiver. For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian signs on their behalf.
Do I need to carry proof of the waiver?
Yes. Carry proof of completion on the route, such as a screenshot or the confirmation email. A county official may ask to see it.
Is anything else required besides the waiver?
Uintah County also requires every climber to watch the official safety video, and to use certified via ferrata gear: a harness, a helmet and an energy-absorbing via ferrata lanyard.
Is the county waiver the same as the Gorge Gear Co waiver?
No. The county waiver covers your use of the route. If you rent gear from us, you also sign our rental waiver during checkout, and group members get their own link by email.
