T-Rex Terrace & Wind Walker Sky Bridge
A sweeping ledge traverse with the widest views on the route, reached across the second suspension bridge.
T-Rex Terrace is a long ledge traverse that opens out onto the widest canyon views anywhere on the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata. After the intensity of the surrounding Phase 2 terrain it reads as a relief — exposed, but not physically demanding.
You reach it across the Wind Walker Sky Bridge, the second suspension bridge added in the 2026 Phase 2 expansion, which delivers you onto the terrace wall. Two suspension bridges on one route is unusual, and crossing both in a day is one of the things that makes a full Phase 2 outing worth the effort.
The terrace is also a junction. Several Phase 2 options branch from here, which makes it a sensible place to take stock, eat something, and decide honestly how much more your group has in the tank.
What to Expect
- ▸Wind Walker Sky Bridge — the second suspension span
- ▸Widest canyon panoramas on the route
- ▸Natural decision point with several onward options
- ▸Moderate climbing relative to the rest of Phase 2
Good fit if
Fit parties who have completed Phase 1 and want Phase 2 scenery without committing to the hardest walls.
You'll Need Certified Gear
Every sector at Ashley Gorge requires a via ferrata lanyard with an energy absorber, a climbing harness and a certified helmet. Homemade setups are not permitted and the route is monitored. We rent full kits for $40 and lanyards on their own for $25, picked up from our self-service lockers in Roosevelt — 30 minutes from the trailhead, open 24/7.
